A CHILD’S BATTLE

Here comes the night
With the terror it has brought
To this love starved child
And the demons she has fought

Darkness enshrouds them
As they stand face to face
Neither trusting the other
Each setting it’s own pace

She advances and retreats
But the other pushes on
Neither of them knowing
If either side has won

And still the alley’s quiet
As the two connect and spark
For this conflict’s very real
Rivals sparring in the dark

UNTITLED

Running and running
Like the wind on a breeze
The scared lonely child
That nobody sees

They see what they want
Not what is
They live in their fantasies
And don’t see what they miss

They are missing the laughter
They are missing the joy
The child that they see
Is nothing but a toy

The toy that’s forgotten
After it’s thrown in a corner
Alone and afraid
What the future may bring

THROUGH THIS TOGETHER

Memories are chasing me again
I just want to run away
It’s funny, just when you think it’s over
They say, “we’re here to stay”

I want to hide in the closet
I want to take a drink or two
But those are things in the past
Your hugs will have to do

I’m glad you’re here beside me
Your big hand holding mine
Another road to travel
Each by the other’s side

THIS LITTLE GIRL

Can you see me
Can you hear me
This little girl you have inside

Can you touch me
Can you hug me
This little girl you have inside

Can you feel me
Can you love me
This little girl you have inside

ALONE

Lost......
Lost in this everlasting hole
Can i.....
Can i return from nothingness
It is.....
It is so dark in here
Sun.....
Sun, please shine for me
Friends....
Friends, where have you gone
Alone.....
Alone in this world of mine
Lost....
Lost and looking for home

Homecoming

When all is darker
Than the darkest night,
A guiding star
For you burns bright,
If your eyes are blind
Or you cannot see,
Let friendly thoughts bring you
Home-to sanctuary.

UNTITLED #2

So calm, so peaceful
Te glass of the ocean
The seagulls are flying
The laps on the shore are sighing
Come closer come closer
Let me embrace you
To give you warm hugs
And bring you home too

HEAVEN’S SPECIAL ANGEL

Somebody cried out tonight
Did anybody hear
Someone almost died tonight
Did anybody care

Someone reached out tonight
Yes you did hear
Someone needed help tonight
Yes you do care

eaven’s sent an angel
From way beyond the stars
To guide another to me
To help me fight my wars

Someone yelled help tonight
Was anybody there
Someone couldn’t cope tonight
Was anybody near

Someone almost died tonight
Yes you were near
Someone needed help tonight
Yes you were there

Heaven’s sent an angel
He stayed by me tonight
When things were at their worst
He helped me see the light

MOTHER’S DAY, 1979

Years have past since you’ve been gone
Almost twenty I’m sure
The child you left still looks for you
Behind every closed door

The child that cringed at the sight of your hand
That wailed when palm met flesh
But still that child wants your love
The child you left can’t rest

Please leave her be, she can’t take no more
The memories can not fade
Of a child crying in the corner
The scene so often played

The child is grown, but yet a child
Still searching for your love it seems
So one more time she looks to the door
For the mother of her dreams

I WANNA SEE SNOW

I wanna go back the days of yore
To the days when living was fun
I wanna go back to the in between years
I wanna go back and find the sun

I wanna see snow in the early morning
I wanna see angels on the ground
I wanna see snowballs sailing through the air
I wanna see snow, but where

Where is the snow now that I’m older
The times aren’t fun anymore
The older I get, I get much wiser
I’d rather see snow again

UNTITLED "3

The tides have turned against me
The ocean breeze is gone
The world that once was my oyster
Has crumbled and now alone

Would life be so good this moment
To laugh away all my tears
And bring some sense to this heartache
It's infinite wisdom of years

The road has come full circle
The joker is waiting for me
His laughter rings out in the silence
Happiness is not meant to be

UNTITLED #4

Thunder's whisperin at my door
Waves are sleeping at the shore
Dark illuminates the night
Death is such a wonderous sight

Dark eyes watching over me
The sea sings such sweet melody
Pebbles crush me as they fall
Dwarfed in size they stand so tall

Begging me to let them in
Find the life that won't begin
In the silence of the war
I'll be here, yet no more.
